Is CBT right for me?

CBT can be challenging and works better when people have some time and headspace to commit to weekly sessions and near daily homework. If your life is exceptionally busy right now, or you’re currently embarking on some major life transition, consider if you have enough resources to also take on therapy right now.

CBT also requires an open mind to giving new techniques a chance, especially when your mind initially says ‘yes, but… that doesn’t/won’t work for me’. A key attribute for successful CBT treatment is to flexibly entertain possibilities that seem counter-intuitive and be willing to at least experiment with them.
